Session Experience
A little about my approach to photography: I utilize natural light for all of my sessions and I am drawn to a lifestyle approach with my portraits. To me, a lifestyle approach means that while I do pose and guide my clients, I keep my focus on documenting natural connections.
The love, the goodness, the quirks you share as a family: that’s where the magic is. All I need to do is make you comfortable. So, during our session, I’ll set you up in a pose and let it fall apart. Your kids will run the session and that’s totally normal. We’ll explore, play games, and melt into cuddle puddles. They might have a giggling fit or a mini-meltdown. I’ll capture all of it. And you know what? I’m willing to bet those photographs will be some of your favorites. We’ll get the unposed, raw, and real moments that feel like your actual life.
That’s what is going to keep you feeling connected and in love with your photographs for years to come.
SO, How Does This Work?

Book Your Session
Once we’ve decided on a session date I will send a link to your invoice. $50 is required to reserve your date, the remaining amount is due the day of the session.

Discuss and Plan
I will send you a quick questionnaire to help jumpstart planning the details of your session. Then I can send you some ideas for locations and if you want help with deciding what to wear I would be happy to help!

Enjoy Your Session
Be present and enjoy each moment. You do you, and I'll take care of the rest. No awkward posing or forced smiles allowed!

Receive Your Gallery
Within 3 weeks you'll receive your online gallery full of the beautiful imagery we created together.

Each one of my sessions varies in how many images are delivered. The number of images you can expect that is listed for each of my session offerings is a minimum estimate - I promise I will always give plenty of images of everything that I capture.

Typically you will have a small sneak peek of images within 3 days of your session and you can expect your gallery within 3 weeks of your session.

I don’t alter the way you look other than skin blemishes or anything temporary that wouldn’t normally be there (bruises, scratches, acne, etc. unless you’d like me to keep it in the photos.) If you’re self-conscious about something please let me know and I’ll be sure to be extra aware of that while I’m posing you.

“Golden Hour” is the hour before the sun sets or after the sun rises - it’s when the light is the absolute dreamiest.
Because I utilize only natural light for outdoor sessions, the time of day your session takes place has a huge impact on what your photos will look like. The photos that you see on my website are all taken during golden hour because outside of that time frame the light is typically just too harsh.
If doing your session during golden hour doesn't work for you and/or your littles, I completely understand! In that case we will need to get creative with where we do our session - we can look into doing an in-home session, renting a studio, or finding a location with a lot of open shade.

If you’ve already put a deposit down on a date then have to move/cancel it, the deposit is non-refundable and a new deposit will have to be made to reserve your new date. *The exception to this is newborn sessions.

I always encourage embracing whatever weather comes our way, as it’s beautiful and unique in photos. If it’s terrible enough out that it would make our session miserable (or ruin my camera gear) and I can reschedule, then we totally will!

$50 is required at booking as a nonrefundable deposit to reserve your session date. The remaining amount can be broken into up to 3 payments if you’d like to help make it more affordable. If this is something that you’re interested in just let me know and we can get a payment schedule set up that works for you.
